How I discovered coaching
Our military affiliate in Okinawa (Shogun CrossFit) had an all-volunteer
staff. Due to military members rotating off island in 2014, we were
shorthanded on coaching staff, and there happened to be a Level 1 course on
island that summer, so signed up and quickly found myself coaching 3-4 hours a
week! My experience leading military physical fitness training made it an
What I love about coaching
I love giving back. I enjoy seeing athletes’ reactions to even the smallest
PRs. Some days that PR may just be getting through the work out. Listen to
an athlete come in to warm up and talk about their challenging or bad day at
work, but for an hour they sling iron, run, row, jump. They’re panting sweaty
messes, and they’re smiling.
Personal likes and hobbies outside the gym
Obstacle Course Racing, running, shooting, off-roading, SCUBA. Working out
with my family. (That last one may not count as out side of the gym)
Something I'm not good at
Double Unders and Mobility, but I’m working on both!!

Lots of PRs, but community with my friends, whether its dinner or a race
