GMSP Cycle 1 Day 14

What are some things do you guys think about during workouts, lifts, running, etc? I know there is so much going on inside my head I could probably write an entire book about it. Lately I have been telling myself that if I am not ready to workout or not mentally ready than I will not workout. For me its all about max effort. Jason Khalipa said something that I now tell myself before every training session. “If you come into a workout with a casual mindset you will get a casual result.” If the workout calls for heavy lifting. Im turning the music up, strapping on my lifting belt, and LOADING UP THE BARBELL. Fast metcons? no problem, I’ve been telling myself lately that if I’m not on the floor dying after the workout, I haven’t pushed hard enough. Even as I am working out, my mind is constantly fighting my body. If I step away from the bar, I say “no, keep going.” Hard to breath, for the most part, Im yelling inside. “keep pushing, you need to be here.” Meaning, I need to be in that state of pain. But most importantly amongst all of the chatter in my head, I try to say one thing before every workout…..Leave no doubt. Whether it be to myself or to my peers (mainly myself though). I want to know that at the very end of the workout, I truly did everything to the best of my ability.

2 reps w/75%
